Things to do in Phoenix this weekend

    It’s finally that time of year; the time when we say adios to triple digits and start enjoying activities, around our fantastic community, again!  There are some really fun events taking place in Phoenix, this weekend:

    The Arizona Home and Landscape Show is taking place Friday 10/2 through Sunday, 10/4 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds (19th Ave and McDowell).  Gates open at 10:00 a.m. daily, and the event features DIY classes, as well as landscape and gardening tips.

    Eastmark First Friday Concert Series begins at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, 10/3 at the East Valley master planned community of Eastmark.  The event features a tour of 50 builder spec homes, follow by a concert by the Police Experience.

    Scarizona Scaregrounds taking place today through Sunday, 10/4 (times vary), features 2 haunted houses, as well as “Operation Zombie Storm,” an interactive paintball experience.  For location, ticket prices, and additional information, visit www.Scarizona.com

    Greek Festival of Chandler takes place Friday, 10/2 and Saturday 10/3 at St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, in Chandler (times vary).  The event features traditional Greek imports, food, folk music, dancing, kids zone, and much more!

    Phoenix Walk for Wishes is a family friendly 5k run/walk benefiting the Arizona Make a Wish Foundation.  The event takes place Sunday, 10/4 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Tempe Market place, and features activity booths, mascots, cheerleaders, and an easy 5k route.
